You don't wake up one day and say, "Today, I'm going to meet the love of my life"; it kind of just happens. You meet this person, and it just feels good, so you see them more often, and suddenly you can't live without them.Β
My love story with photography is just that; it just kind of happened. I got sucked a little deeper every day until it became who I was. And I liked it.
Photography has allowed me to visit incredible places, meet the most amazing people, and spend my days doing what I love, and I am forever grateful for that.
I'm originally from Durban, South Africa, but when our whole world got turned upside down by COVID, we took a leap and moved to Mexico! I now live with my beautiful wife and 2 amazing daughters in Tulum, possibly the coolest little town in the world. When I'm not shooting, I like fishing, family adventures, and traveling.
I love photographing Tulum and the Riviera Maya but buy me a plane ticket, and I'll shoot anywhere in the world for you.
My Approach
When I teach photography, one idea I always try to drive home with my students is to remember that in front of their cameras are real people. People with emotions, insecurities, likes, and dislikes. That's important because once you understand that, you can connect authentically on a human level, and once you do that, the magic happens!
Any photographer can get the technicals right, but creating an unforgettable experience for my clients is just as important. So, yes, we want to deliver beautiful images, but in addition to that, I want to deliver a set of images that is undeniably, authentically you, whatever that may be! And why not also have fun doing it?
